Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s take a look at some strategies to help you kill arch glacor in normal mode.

Mechanics

  • Activate all 5 different Mechanics for maximum reward to unlock hard mode in Arch Glacor:

If you don’t want to have poor drop table then you should activate all mechanics in normal mode and defeat arch glacor. That way you earn more rewards and move on to boss mode. It is recommended to have at least 83+ slayer ability level so once you have that we can proceed to the mechanics in normal mode.

1. Glacyte MinionsMage: Ariane

Glacyte minions

A player may receive other mechanics first, but this does not affect our strategy revealed below regarding how to kill the Arch-Glacor. What do Glacial Minions do? The Arch-Glacor will remain immune to damage until all of its minions are dead.

To defeat: In this case, you must click on the cores as early as possible and damage it through the balls. When enraged, Arch-Glacor will attack you while also spawning minions, stand still and go for the fortified Glacyte.

2. Creeping ice

These mechanics increase over the course of the game, forcing players towards one end of the battlefield. This mechanic is enabled by default.
creeping ice

This is a very critical mechanic, when you see creeping ice, it means Arch Glacor is about to launch an attack at you. It might be any of the five mechanics in the Normal Mode.

How to defeat: Be aware at this point if not, you will be hit unaware and your health level will drop quickly.

3. Pillars of ice

pillar of ice arch glacor

The Arch-Glorious forces you to stand on one side after the creeping ice and then draws in beams of light energy from the sky. They are very difficult to avoid and if you get hit, you will be severely damaged. The beam will follow you around and split into two when it gets close enough, draining and sapping 8% of your prayer points.

How to beat: Use the fact that the two beams move slowly towards you, giving you enough time to avoid being hit by them while also protecting yourself from the creeping ice.

4. Exposed core

The Arch-Glacor’s icy core strikes the ground in the middle of the arena, collapsing its body and slamming its two arms down on either side of you, trapping you. As it keeps stacking up, it causes even more damage to you.

To defeat this creature, you must break through one of its arms and get away from its closeness quickly. If you do, you won’t die. Do this many times until you’ve escaped the area. Then leave.

5. Flurry – Mage: Arianwyn

Normal Mode: You will only encounter ranged and magical attacks from Arch Glacors. They also have increased damage reduction when praying against the correct combat style. Green Furred Ones: These creatures can cast spells too! Their ranged attack is called the “Green Furred One” and its spell is named “Magic Missile.”

How to defeat – Prayer flick the right attack and you will defeat this mechanic.

6. The Frost Canon – Mage: Charos

Arch glacier frost canon

There’s only one attack that you can’t avoid: Frost Cannon. After being hit by it, you’ll be pushed to a position and fired upon. Magic, HP, speed, and dbs won’t work here either, but you must be prepared. If you overdo DbS to the boss, it hurts it greatly.

Shield Switching & Defensive Techniques – As it is inevitable that you will get hit during combat, you must learn how to switch between shields quickly and effectively.

How to get arch glacor in hard mode

  • You’ll need to have a combat level of at least 99 and a Defence level of more than 85, In order to protect your style from being hacked.
  • If you have the augmented gear that has advanced perks, you must have 120 Invention.
  • It’s important to have protection prayers on the secondary bar. As this boss you will fight will be switching prayers during prayer-mandatory periods, we recommend also binding it for easier access.
  • For Pillars of Ice, you’ll need to turn off auto-retaliate. So, during the game, you’ll need to make sure that you’re running around and stopping attackers instead of randomly attacking them.
  • In the event of a hard mode encounter, you’ll need to use armor that is at least tier 80. This includes Masterwork, Zamorak Anima, Pernix, Seren Anima, and Virtus armor pieces. There are many other options available too.
  • You’ll need to use at least tier 90 weaponry in this area. You will also need a shield or defender so that you can deflect the Frost Cannon or barricades during Pillars of Ice.
  • Have a Super Adrenaline potion to refresh 30% of your adrenaline.

Inventories for Hard mode – getting to 500%

Make sure you’ve got some prayer potions of some kind or spiritual prayer potions if you are bringing a ripper demon. It is suggested to bring a ripper demon as the mechanics here. Also bring weapon poison, shields, vitality portion just in case you get in a tight situation. Wear your Pontifex shadow ring if it has been upgraded and you have completed Elder Trove, as this will help you earn even more Wen pages for profit. Soul Split with the Penance prayer will keep your health and prayer points full as long as you deal enough damage to offset the boss’ damage. Protection prayers can be used, but they might need to be compensated for with healing methods like Vampyrism, Scrimshaw of vampyrism, or some other healing method. Bunyips are great familiars that provide passive healing without costing much in comparison.

Mechanics for hard mode  (video)

Strategy for defeating arch glacor

As a general rule, killing bosses at lower levels requires ranged attacks, because the longer attack animation times give you enough time to soul split and hit multiple targets before the next melee attack. However, once you reach level 50, you can switch over to melee attacks, since the shorter attack animations mean you can do more damage per tick.

Rotation starts/death swiftness begins

⬥ This rotation applies at the beginning of each fight and generally after every use of Death Swiftness.

Upon entering the instance, head towards the center of the arena, 1 tile to the west of the fourth pillar from the east.

3 seconds after entering the game, use DeathswiftPF + AdrenRenewal → EcB EOFSpec + Vuln Vulnerability Bomb → TCEngineer + Ingenuity + SmokeCloud + GrimecaromIng.

Needle Strike to prevent Nulling on Glacytes Minions.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎• Afterward, utilize snap → rapid/corrupt shot before rapid if your subsequent mechanic isn’t Glacyte Minions or Exposed Core.

If Flurry is your first mechanic, follow with gricocaroming → needle → equip ecb + shadowtend → (Dual wield) ecb eofspec → Improvise. Try to get a second SGB spec sgb eofspec in your DS ds if Exposed Core is not your next mechanic.

If Frost Cannon is your first mechanic, use Anti → Devolution.

Pillars of Ice is a great mechanic, especially early game. Follow the movements in this video to stay in your DS as much as possible. You can use Greater Ricochet ricochet before the Creeping Ice forces you out of DS. Try to get a second Spec SG spec SG spec in your DS.

If Glacyte Minions is your first mechanic, use Mechanical Chinchompas to clear minions using corrupt shot → snap/dbow eofspec depending on adrenaline → improvise.

If exposed core is your first mechanic, snap any ability onto arms

If you have 100% Adrenaline, you can ignite an incendiary shot before using ECB ecb eofspec since you have 2-3 GCDs before the boss becomes targetable.
